CMET NAME: A_Order_options
DOMAIN OVERVIEW The A_Order_options CMET is used to specify additional information specific to laboratory order. The information provided can be used by automation systems to specify additional configurable parameters related to the automated analysis of a specimen. This includes things like the endogenous content of a diluent; whether the instrument is given permission to repeat a test, with or without a specified dilution; perform an unordered test (reflex) based on results for something ordered.
FOCAL AREA STRUCTURE All of the characteristics described are observations and hence the entry point into the Order Options CMET is a choice among these observations.
REQUIRED ELEMENTS MANDATORY There are no mandatory elements beyond the structural elements required by the RIM. MUST SUPPORT All elements occurring in the Specimen CMET must be supported.

The A_LaboratoryProcessStep universal CMET is used to communicate where the laboratory is in the process of producing a test result.
Model Walkthrough
LabProcessStep: The LabProcessStep is an ACT that is used to document various parts of the Lab workflow associated with producing a laboratory result.
LabProcessStep Participations:
Performer: The Performer participation is used only when the process step is a Specimen Collection process.
Collector: Performer associates the LabProcessStep with the Collector role. The Collector Role (as an assigned entity) is used to document at a high level what role is responsible for collecting a specimen. This class carries some of the functionality found in the 2.x Specimen Action Code (OBR.11).

The R_LabTestKit universal CMET universal is used to identify and characterize a test kit used to produce a test result.
Model Walkthrough
LabTestKit: The LabTestKit is a manufactured product role (RoleClassManufacturedProduct) that is used to identify the lab test kit. The role is played the manufactured material representing the test kit. The role is scoped by the organization manufacturing the test kit.
LabTestKit Associations:
manufacturerOrganization: The LabTestKit role is scoped by the manufacturerOrganization. The manufacturerOrganization is documented using the E_Organization universal CMET. There may be 0..1 manufacturerOrganizations. If TestKit.lotNumberText is present, then manufacturerOrganization is mandatory. The manufacturerOrganization is mandatory in this circumstance because lot numbers are unique only in conjunction with the code identifying the test kit and the manufacturer of the test kit.
manufacturedTestKit: The LabTestKit role is played by the manufacturedTestKit. The manufacturedTestKit is documented using a Manufactured Material (MMAT) Entity. There may be 0..1 manufacturedTestKits. If the LabTestKit.id is not present, then the manufacturedTestKit must be present in the CMET. This means the test kit must either be identified, or it must be described.

CMET NAME: Reagent
DOMAIN OVERVIEW The Reagent CMET provides information specific to the reagent used in the analysis of a specimen. It provides information that relates to the manufacturer of the reagent and more specific information such as the lot and expiration date of the reagent.
FOCAL AREA STRUCTURE The concept of the CMET is to associate the reagent with its manufacturer, expiration date and lot number.
REQUIRED ELEMENTS MANDATORY There are no mandatory elements beyond the structural elements required by the RIM. MUST SUPPORT All elements occurring in the Reagent CMET must be supported.
FOCAL CLASS
R_Reagent The focal class R_Reagent. The substance named by the id attribute plays the role of reagent.
